I took Little Sis to Bloomington, today. We visited with my friend Chaze for a bit, and debated on whether or not Donna was a worthy companion for the Doctor (I'm for her, Chaze is against, and Little Sis doesn't give a damn). Then, the kid and I went down one side of Kirkwood and up the other, looking at shops. I gave in to my inner magpie and got a small pendant with the Om symbol on it. As we were on our way back to the car, a pickup truck passed us by. It had a piano in the back, and two guys playing a lively duet on it.
Have I mentioned that I love Bloomington? ^_^
After,
watsashitachi wa Asuka de tabemashita. Unaju wa oishii. (We ate at Asuka. The eel was delicious. ;-P) Then we went across the parking lot to Borders, where I found a book of Zen koans, entitled
Bring me the Rinoceros, and, since I took care of dinner, Little Sis treated us to chocolate mocha crunch cappuccino-milkshake-things (I know there's a proper name for these, but it escapes me, just now.) Then we stopped in at
Saraga and picked up some Oriental tastiness, such as almond-chocolate-pretzel-sticks, melon bread, and green tea ice cream. I'm hoping it doesn't give me a headache in ice cream form, because I really really miss my green tea. T_T Pomegranate juice too. I need to find out what these two things have in common that they would give me headaches... :-/
On the way home, we blasted Gogol Bordello's
Supertaranta! album, and the kid tried to weird out people in other cars by sticking her hands up through the moon roof and wiggling her fingers at them or pretending to be one of the zombies in the Thriller video. Then, the second I walked in the door, I found out that work had just called and wanted me in early, being as it's my manager's son's birthday. It was a bit sudden, but who am I to turn down a little extra cash and a slice of ice cream cake?
Now, let's see if I can get some progress on this short story done...
