c/p'ed from ShadowLore for any interested parties.

Greetings everyone,
This message goes out to mostly the Mid-Western kinships, but all members are welcomed as long as they are willing to travel.

The ShadowLore IN_IL branch has decided to host its first kin camping trip. And if all goes well, perhaps it will become an annual gathering. This is open to all kinships and kin-friendlies.

The gathering will be held the first weekend of June, Beginning on Friday June 2 thru Sunday June 4. It will be a 2night trip. We will be meeting at The Brown County State Park Campsites, located near Nashville Indiana, just 60 miles south of Indianapolis near Bloomington, Indiana.

Brown County State Park offers a variety of campsites, from primitive to cabins, electric and non-electric, over 70 miles of bridle trails and 12 miles of hiking trails, an Olympic size swimming pool, horse and pony rides, fishing, hunting and boat rentals. Pets are also welcomed as long as the remained leashed and are only allowed in certain parts of the park. However, for a minimal fee, there is a doggie park for our furry friends to enjoy.

The primitive/electric sites are located either in heavily wooded areas, semi wooded, or paved, and you can chose whether or not you would like sun, partial sun, or full shade.

For site-specific reservations the cost is $16.00 for a non-electric site and $28.00 for an electric site, with a $7.00 car entrance fee for non-residential vehicles.

First come first serve reservations are $12.00 to $18.00, but then there would be no guarantee where we would camp or if we would even be able to camp together.

There is a $10.00 cancellation fee, and a $5.00 fee should we need to move the date or change the sites.

Most of the sites allow 1 car per site only, with additional parking elsewhere for extra vehicles.

Each site is allowed 2 tents. 1 main tent, and 1 small side tent.

With much discussion, we have decided that a shaded campsite, in a wooded area, with electric capabilities would be the best, for those of us with younger kids, and those of us that do not like the sun. It would also be best to reserve sites to insure that we are all in the same area.

We also thought that if everyone brought a little something, this would cut down on the cost of food and snacks.
