The Mummy: Secrets of the Past, active players (writers!!!) needed

A post-"The Mummy Returns" roleplay with both film and original characters, plus a nice juicy past-life tangle. The time is January 1935, the place is currently an enchanted temple/oasis in the desert. Ardeth's betrothed has been murdered, and Jonathan is having a rather complicated existence since he fell under a rather interesting ancient spell--again. And so has everyone else. On top of/alongside that, they've got to deal with Nazis, an evil witch of a seductress, and some rather interesting werecreature metamorphoses...
Plenty of profiles, photos, and even backstory files for the things we haven't time to hash through in the present...feel free to read along altogether or find a place to bring in your char(s)--clear Original Characters with moderators first, please.
We'd definitely like a sample of writing, preferably in the range the player is "auditioning" for. They have to be able to read up the backstory on whatever char they're taking over to ensure some kind of continuity -- and we'd /like/ a post at least once every two weeks or as tagged. Game pace is generally a few posts a week, depending on who has the access/time to post something and how fast a scene is moving.
Needed characters:
We need a very good ARDETH -- and one who can read the backposts in the group quickly to get caught up on where he is and why, seeing as he's most recently lost his betrothed Layla to a murderer and told his father that he plans to step down as leader of the Med-Jai after taking Layla's body back to her village to give her burial....there's also an intimation/recollection that he was formerly interested in Jonathan romantically, whatever one chooses to do (or not do) with that.
ARDETH'S PARENTS, here named as BAHMIN and DALILAH, who have arrived directly on scene within the past two-three hours of the plot. Playing both of them at once is probably a good idea if one can handle it... not sure how long they'll be on scene, but your own original characters are always welcome to populate the stage as well/in their later stead. Bahmin in particular needs to be convincing as a tribal leader/elder, and able to handle his.
TARIK EL IBAN BAY -- Nephiew of Ardeth. He is almost of age to be initiated as a full warrior, and his most recent deed has been to rescue two 'English' strangers in the desert and bring them to the temple/palace which is the primary setting at this time. He is Ardeth's preferred successor, but is deemed too young to take command if Ardeth resigns now.
A dedicated RICK and EVY. And I say 'dedicated' because this isn't a very comfortable situation they're in at the moment, considering the past-life scenario they're remembering now (which has nothing to do with the one w/ Evy as Nefertari in TMR) and the changes that have happened in the present. Mere lovey-doveys will not suffice... though Evy getting tipsy or hallucinating the past is always appreciated...>:)
(as an aside, I'm playing Evy just now and would love to be able to focus on my OC Nazirah... the rest of these characters are in play, and piloted by the GM at the moment, but we'd love to see someone come and show us what they can do!)
MATTHEW IAIN CARNAHAN McCALLUM -- Jonathan's longlost younger brother, who also has a twin sister Emma... he's supposed to more-or-less resemble Jonathan as he was ten years before, with similar habits.
Also need someone to take over VI COLLINS, NANCY ANNE DARREN, and take/add in any of Jonathan's old chums in Cairo mentioned (except for Conall MacLachaln). We'll also be getting into some nasty Nazi business in time (so there may be room for a villain or two, if that's your thing ~_0).
Other characters may be made available by players already piloting more than one, once it's known that there are interested takers. So please feel free to ask if one catches your eye. We will likely be creating an OOC site to handle backstage talk and negotiations, so as to clear the gamesite of non-story posts.
