The trip was great! :-D
Checked into the Brown County Inn and got a $10 discount for no better reason than that the receptionist was feeling saucy... or something ;-P. The rooms were nice, kinda rustic with pretty rocking chairs and a little porch off to the side.
Went and puttered around Nashville for a while. Ate bagle sandwiches and drank Oregon Chai (best drink ever!), had some maple-walnut fudge and bought a little pendant of green dichotic glass dangling from a little silver leaf, and a chiffon ribbon the color of fall leaves to hang it 'round my neck. Followed the sound of windchimes to the most beautiful little shop full of frivolous, and /expensive/ but beautiful things. Got some apple cinnamon tea bags and honey to sweeten it with. (The room also had little coffee machines, so we could get good hot water on demand.)
On the way back to the hotel, we got a little alchahol.
We took a swim in the /indoor heated pool/ and I impressed Raney with my ability to swim from one end of the pool to the other (longways) without coming up for breath. I couldn't get her to play Marco Polo with me, though... *pouts*
Went back to the room, and helped Raney create a V:TM character (call me old-fashioned). We dyed her hair bright red and got tipsy on Wilberry Jack and Watermelon Pucker, fell asleep around 2.
Woke up at 10 and went down to enjoy the excellent breakfast buffet served in the hotel dining room. We got some dirty looks from the more conservative people that were eating there. (Picture a goth girl and a girl with bright red hair laughing over biscuits and gravy in that rustic-swank place, probably the youngest pair eating there... It was good fun!)
Checked out and drove through Brown County State Park, took some pictures that'll make great paintings. (I STILL NEED A MODEL, DAMMIT!! I can't paint the way I want to unless I can find someone who will dress up and let me take pictures of them /in/ these settings!)
Got home, cleaned up a bit and took a nap!
