So, with the advent of summer, my step-mother has decided to stop cooking dinner. She's a school teacher, and I think she figures that handling two meals a day for everyone, now, is enough. Being as dinner is the only meal I'm awake for, this leaves me to my own devices for food. I'm actually kind of pleased with this, because I've never been a very good cook and been meaning to do a little more culinary experimenting. Last night was the white chili-ish soup:
One can, cream of chicken soup
One can, cream of mushroom soup
1 cup water
1 cup milk
(Or half each, I suppose, if you prefer it thicker)
A can of Great Northern Beans
Chicken
Chopped Onion
Garlic
Basil
Red Curry
Tonight was Thai:
1 box of coconut ginger noodles
Mix in:
Chicken
Beansprouts
Slivered Almonds
The end result was nice, but a little more delicately-flavoured than I like. I think I should've added... something. Not sure what. Maybe curry--that always seems to improve things... :-?
Tomorrow, Italian.
