Well, the trip was tons of fun. My train was late arriving in Chicago, causing me to miss my train to Joliet, where

Upon arriving back at Morris, we hung out for a bit, then headed into town to see what the local Cornfest had to offer. Lots of food, drinking, music, and festivities. We hopped into a pottery shop and painted our own, but had to leave before we'd finished. The lady who owned the place went above and beyond the call of duty and allowed us to borrow some paints and brushes in order to finish them at the apartment and then bring it all back to have our work glazed later. (Tuesday, if I remember correctly. Then they'll bring my vase to me when they come down to visit next weekend to attend a wedding and galavant through Oktoberfest, which is a lot like Cornfest, only maybe a tiny bit bigger.) Then we hopped over to the church where they were hosting the local art competition. (I want to steal it and make it my house.)

Saturday, we headed up to the legendary Mitsuwa, and purchased sake, various candy-like things (Mmmmm, ribbon bread and rice cakes!), green tea ice cream, very tastey soda with a little glass marble in each bottle, and had lunch (Gods, I missed eel!). We could find none of the powder stuff the Geisha use to mix their foundation, so it's back to the drawing board. On the way back, we stopped at a game store, and they got me a Nintendo DS, and two games to play on it. (They're going to spoil me!) Then we went back to Morris and headed out to Cornfest again. The fireworks had been cancelled due to flooding, but we did get some snackage, then walked back to the apartment and watched The Fall (which is a pretty good movie, and beautifully directed.)
Sunday morning was filled up by watching more Elfin Leid, and then dropping me off at Joliet to hop the train to Chi, and from there back to Indiana. My only complaint about the whole trip was that it went by much too quickly, and next time I go up, I shall have to try to wrangle an extra day or two off. ^_^
