Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] discipuladc.
When you see this, post another Buffy quote in your LJ. Let's see how long this can go on.

"They got ... the mustard ... ouuuuuuuut!" --The Mustard Man, Season 6, Once More with Feeling.

Incidentally, did anyone else know that the demon in that episode was the guy who played Cat on Red Dwarf? /:-D

Well, last weekend was fantabulous. my friends [livejournal.com profile] branadain  and R. (his girlfriend) came up to visit me, and we had a wonderful time. There was hiking, and gaming, much talk and the ordering of Chinese food, and, um... private time... for all three of us. (*squees* :->)   They gave me a book (The King in Yellow and Other Horror Stories--excellent reading!)  There was an impressive windstorm on Sunday, so we spent most of that time watching movies, cuddling, and dozing until it was time for them to go. I adore them both, and there will most definitely be more visits in the future!

Mom got switched to day shift at her job, which means she can't pick me up from works of a morning, which has me staying at Dad's on a permanent basis. On the bright side, she has finally (Finally!!!) gotten her Bravada into the mechanics, so I will have full access to my car back soon! (I hope, provided her car is fixable. It'd bloody well better be!)

Weekend after next I get to head up to visit with [livejournal.com profile] anastras  and the cleverly crafty [livejournal.com profile] taytheer . We will be going up into Chicago to see the Shedd Aquarium (their treat) and then out for a good Japanese dinner (my treat). I'm hoping to persuade them into a trip here while we're at it.   They say they found a place for sale that has a shop downstairs and an apartment upstairs that might be worth considering getting, so we might even get to open a place for us to sell our work when it gets time for me to move up there.  (*squee* :-D)

This morning I took a short hike out by the pond. The sun was just rising, and hadn't burnt the mist away yet. It looked like molten copper in a sea of silver. I picked my way through grass that was taller than I was and jeweled with condensation, with the idea that I might find a clear spot to build a small altar. I'd pocketed a fortune cookie from last night with the intention of leaving it as an offering toward that. I got to the pond covered in icy cold due, sweat, grass seeds and cobwebs to find that there was no clear spot. I'll have to make one. It was a gorgeous walk, though, and I left the fortune cookie anyway. It'd broken open on the walk, and the fortune inside said: "You are a bundle of energy, always on the go." Appropriate. :-|

I ordered a book from Amazon for starting on Kanji, but it hasn't arrived yet.  I also picked up Songs for Walter by Gropius. (Excellent album!), and a new copy of Ginger Snaps, and The Fox and the Jewel: Shared and Private Meanings in Contemporary Japanese Inari Worship, which is proving to be fascinating.

Well, must hop off.  We just got our intarwebs, here, back from the windstorm, and Little Sis wants her turn. :-P
