Aahh, David Tennant, the 10th Doctor. I do adore 10. Can't watch an episode without him doing something to make me want to cuddle him. It's not that he's cute (though I do think he's that), it's that he's crafty and mad, and has an excellent balance of brightness and shadow to him. I love the way he's written. Of course, they do say that your first Doctor is always the one who stays with you, and he
is the first that I've seen more than just one or two episodes of. Yes, a Who-n00b am I. Unworthy to kiss the hem of his flowy brown coat, according to some. Spare me. An excellent show is just that, and someone with the good taste to appreciate it is just that; it doesn't matter who gets you into something or who's been into it longer. It's all about the love, kids, and trying to use a show as an excuse to get all holier-than-thou is just sad.

I appreciate self-discipline; it's a very useful thing, and I'm more likely to respect a person who has it than a person who doesn't. I keep this icon around to remind myself to keep working on mine, be it in my Japanese studies, or my Feri work, or continuing to practice taekwondo privately until I can start taking proper lessons again. It's how you get things done. Or at least how I do, lol. Plus, it's a good thing to have plenty of in case of emergencies. You're more likely to get through the storms well if you can keep your wits about you and your fears from running away with you. The key to keeping control of a situation is first being able to control yourself.

Ah, Colbert! ^_^ Marvelous, brilliant man with among the shiniest and sharpest of wits. I would've voted for him! This icon is for those instances when even the best of us could use a good stiff shot of something fortifying, be the culprits republicans, fundies, or your own self.

Norma Shearer, one of the leading ladies of pre-code film, whose daring in her choice of roles was an inspiration to some and a source of distress for others (mostly Catholics, who were the biggest religious boojums in America, at the time). But for a few, her films were largely meditations on what it was to be a good woman and on the relativity of morality in the real world. This icon is for when I make posts in that spirit.
