PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20):
It's Blame All Your Problems on God Week. You have license to shun responsibility for the pain you feel and the messes you've made, and instead ascribe it all to the Divine Mischief Maker. The secret of achieving success in this enterprise is to act as if your dilemmas really do have nothing to do with anything you've done, but have been entirely caused by God's mistakes, his intentional cruelty, or his wicked sense of humor. By the way, Accept Total Responsibility for Your Problems Week is coming up next, and to observe that holiday correctly you will have to be thoroughly sincere about this week's. P.S. It's crucial that you really do blame everything on God, and not on actual human beings. P.P.S. If you're an atheist, it's Blame All Your Problems on Your Parents Week.

Enh, can't do this one. Sorry, Mr. Brezsny, you're normally really (sometimes frighteningly) good with these horoscopes but no, not even for fun. "God" has been there for me since I was little, and if someone's really and truly been there for me, I don't blame my shit on them. You don't do that to people who are part of the solution. If they become part of the problem, that's another story, because I think the real trick one should be aiming for, here, is figuring out where the dividing line is between one's own problems and other people's.

There are a lot of people who are only too happy with trying to make everyone else responsible for their shit, either by blame or by trying to make them enablers, and that strikes me as just as wrong as blaming oneself for every little thing. If you do the former, you become one of the assholes. If you do the latter, you become their willing victim. Neither option strikes me as a good way to go through life. But, then, Mr. Brezsny, you're a rather clever, tricksy fellow, aren't you? Perhaps this line of thinking was what you had in mind in the first place. Get a person to find a middle ground by suggesting two unattractive extremes? /:-?
