Bit of a Ramble
Apr. 13th, 2008 09:23 pmIs it... Is it wrong that every time I watch Sweeney Todd I get hungry? Honestly, seriously, I do... :-?
Things are starting to get quite Spring-y, here. As usual, the willows are among the first to show signs of life. Some swaths of grass are so green that I just want to roll in it.
Been practicing further with the flash cards, and I'm really happy with what I can remember of them so far (over half).
I've been reading more of the Changeling book, and it's giving me such ideas for characters! I love the WOD version of the Fae--terrible, beautiful, amoral beings, and no one who meets them walks away 100% sane. Definitely inspired by the old legends. /:-)
In the old game, you were supposed to, essentially, play the Fetch... That is, the being that was left behind in a person's place. This game, you play the person who was taken, who escaped the Fae and made it back to the human world, changed into something between human and Fae. Really, I think it could be a lot of fun to combine the games. :-?
The character I'm actually working on making right now, categorizing her is being difficult. The ones who make it back generally fall into one of four categories, a Court for each season (in Western culture; there are other Courts for other cultures). She could fit in the Spring Court, which is comprised of Changelings who try to forget the pain of being held captive by the Fae by throwing themselves into pleasure and the fulfillment of desires... Or, she could fit in with the Autumn Court, which is full of Changelings with a passion for magic and a fascination with fear. Being as she could swing either way, I may wind up just having to make her Courtless, which is option number five. :-? *mulls* I'm in the process of putting together her Prelude... Maybe she'll develop to one side or the other in the process of the story... I'll post it here when I'm done.
On my weekly grocery run I discovered one of the tastiest things I've had in a long time--roasted almonds flavoured with vanilla bean. They're subtley sweet, and completely addictive.
