"Beware of Falling Angels"
Feb. 18th, 2007 12:37 am--sign posted outside the Santa Maria della Salute Church in Venice in the early 1970's, before restoration of its marble ornaments.
Since I have discovered that there is a scanner available to me, I'll be putting some of my old drawings up, soon. They're hardly as good as the work of the artists I tend to idolize, but they have their charm. /:-) Also likely a pic or two, particularly once I get around to having some of the more recent ones (as in over the past year or so) developed. (Note to self: save up for a decent digital camera.)
I picked up a Little Black Dress with a scandalously low neckline to wear out to dinner when I come up to Chicago at the beginning of next month. (Nigh impossible to resist pretty clothes on the $10-or-less rack--particularly if they actually look good on me.) Also picked up a new book, The City of Falling Angels by John Berendt, who wrote Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (I recommend both the book and the movie, there). The idea of Venice has always appealed to me, so I'm looking forward to this read.
I shall be going out to the movies tomorrow with my cousin Raney. Unfortunately, Pan's Labyrinth has already been and gone at the little art theatre in Columbus. (*sighs mournfully*) So, since I can't persuade her to come see Hannibal Rising (*sigh... sniffle*) we're going to see The Messengers, which looked potentially interesting. I haven't been to see a horror film in a while, and I like seeing them in-theatre best, so I'm looking forward to it. /:-)
Mom made brownies today and sent a couple to work with me. I believe I'll have one...
