Ghost story

Just watched a show on Sci-fi (I think it's called Ghost Hunters or something equally imaginative) where these people go to investigate haunted places, and they were investigating the Stanley Hotel. They recorded all sorts of nifty creepy sounds (voices and laughter and suchlike) and cold spots and all that... They decided it was most definitely haunted.
I coulda told them that. ;-P
In 2003 my ex-husband and I took a road trip to Colorado (which is a beautiful place to visit period) and stayed at the Stanley. We had heard that it (aside from being the hotel which inspired the Shining) was actually haunted, and specifically requested accomodations on the second or fourth floors (those are the ones that see the most activity). It was my idea; I wanted to stay at a haunted hotel.
First night we stayed there, we heard the sound of a ticking clock moving around the room. The following day we explored in places that we weren't supposed to go. (There were wedding receptions the whole time we were there, and certain parts of the hotel were roped off for the parties... but if they really didn't want people going in they shouldn't have left the doors open, should they? O:-) ) We heard the clacking of billiard balls in the billiard room even though the tables themselves had been moved out to make space for the revelers.
That night, we were treated to another bout of the Marvelous Wandering Ticking Clock. I was laying on my side, debating whether to dare looking or not, because I had this decidedly crawly feeling in the pit of my stomach. It was kinda like that feeling you get when you're pretty sure you're being watched, only much stronger.
The Ex (whispering): So, um... Do you hear that? o_0
Me (also whispering): Yyyyep. >_<
The Ex: Do you feel that??? O_O
Me: Yyyyyyyyyep. >_<
.....
..........
The Ex: OOOOOOOOOOOO-KAYYYYYYYYYYY! *suddenly grabs the covers, rolls over--practically pushing me off the bed--and pulls them over his head.*
Me: What? WHAT???????? *simultaneously trying not to fall out of bed and flailing pointlessly.*
The Ex: DIDN'T YOU SEE THAT?????????
Me: No, what?????
The Ex (*still under the covers*): There's a woman at the foot of the bed!!!! (OMGWTFBBQ!!!!1!!1!)
Me: *bites the bullet, sits up and looks*
The Woman:................................. *isn't there*
Me: *to this day curses my wussydom for not looking earlier* >:-/
