Between naps
Mar. 31st, 2006 02:28 pmSo, I was roused from bed at noon, today, to go out to lunch with my great aunts, my grandmother, my step-mom and her mother. Feeling rather good, actually, in spite of the fact that I'd normally not be waking up for an hour or so, yet. It's always more pleasant when everyone's gathered, rather than dealing with them one on one. (It seems their conversational manners improve in a crowd ;-P) I got to relax a bit and enjoy my chicken and broccoli quiche without fielding questions about my ex-husband (who I don't much speak to anyway), or when I'll be moving in with my mother rather than living here at the hotel.
As often happens when I go out with people, I was elected to take home the leftovers. For some reason they seem to think I'm starving, here, in spite of the fact that I've explained to them more than once that I have much more spending money now that I'm living on my own and not giving 90% of my paycheck to my former husband in the name of bills (which somehow managed to pile up a bit anyway).
At any rate, I'm here because I was sneaking some of the leftovers into the fridge up here behind the lobby (the small one I have back in the room was already full) and got elected to watch the desk, while the boss and his wife take lunch. :-P
But on to the interesting bit! :-D
On the way back from the restaurant, I saw deer. Three of them, running about right out in the open in a field near the highway . Generally speaking, this is not normal. Around here, the deer don't much come out untill the sun's on it's way down, or if they do, they generally keep near the trees.
Interesting, isn't it, ma bete? /:-)
