Feb. 22nd, 2006 04:15 amK... orginally, my first result for this one was Raven, but the pic was too ruddy big... sooo...
here's the words:
"RAVEN - Your daemon may be a member of the crow family. You are intelligent, observant, and gregarious. Just as a crow or raven picks shiny objects out of the dirt, you pick up tidbits of information or ideas and store them away. You have a good sense of humour, but sometimes lose patience with people who are antipathic to your nature. You are swift to alert others when you find the truth, and you have no tolerance for those who would hide it."
And here's my second result:

EAGLE or HAWK - your daemon may be some kind of
bird of prey. Yours is a strong spirit, and a
fierce sense of liberty. You cannot be
confined. You may be shrewdly observant, and
like to be aware of everything that goes on
around you. You will fight fiercely for the
things that are most important to you, and
you are definitely a force to be reckoned
with. Still, you are not vicious by nature
and would prefer to be left in peace. You
probably value your solitude very highly -
not that you don't enjoy company, but
sometimes you just need to be alone -
otherwise you begin to feel caged in and
confined. You might want to take a drive on
your own, just to feel the road beneath you,
or to sit alone on your balcony, watching the
world go by.

Darkness Is Your Power
You are able to summon death and any other dark
spirts. Black magic is also a speciality. the
power of darkness is incredibly strong.

*snickers* You know that song Black Magic Woman?.... I always liked that song.... :-? But then I've always taken guilty pleasure in "Walkin' on the Sun". So, so much for songs...

You dance with darkness and witches.

So, I was woken up at 10am (I never get to sleep until between 7 and 8am, most nights...) by my dear great aunties, who wanted to take me out to lunch. They were going to Madison for a dentist appointment and were thinking of stopping at the Key West Shrimp House. Remembering that the place had been very good a couple years ago, and not generally one to turn down a free meal, I agreed.
Madison is a rather pretty town on the Ohio River with lots of old brick Victorians, most of them vaguely French in style. They always make me think of New Orleans, even though I've never been there. The well-kept ones are reason enough to see the town, along with the hills that rise above it and the peaceful river flowing below. Even the more run-down ones have a sort of shabby charm.
The food at the restaurant turned out to be terribly bland (worth about half the price they were charging for it, if that), though we did have a good table overlooking the river. I focused on the veiw, charmed my way through the smiling semi-snarkiness and cigarette smoke of my great aunts, and thought about a Certain Amazing Someone (
aureantes) I'd rather have been sharing the day with.
There was an otherworldly quality about today, very misty, and the sky was a delicate, pale grey-white. Everything looked as though it had been done in charcoal and watercolors, and I kept half-expecting to see strange things in the woods that lined the road most of the way there and back. The trees were beautiful in their nudity, tall and straight, their curving limbs raised to the sky as if in benediction. They seemed quietly joyous, dancing over the rich brown of their shed leaves.
And the aunts said it was dreary... I'll never understand some people....
