While I'm here, as I can't type brilliant and angsty storylines while I'm on the phone, I want to say this.... MIRRORMASK ROCKS!!!!  *_*

I was at the Basion of Evil, passing by the DVD's... and there it was *cue heavenly choir*... After eons of waiting, after sitting on the edge of my seat with curiosity, it's out!!!!!!  *does snoopy dance*

The fantabulous Neil Gaiman brings us the story of Helena, a girl who wants to run away from her parent's circus and join real life.  What she winds up with is being kidnapped into an ultra-surreal fantasy world composed of her own drawings by the princess of the dark lands, who means to take her place.  To get home, Helena must search the light and dark lands for the MirrorMask, avoid the clutches of the dark queen, who believes Helena to be her missing daughter, and save her dreamworld in the process.

What we have here is a traditional fairytale with both archetypal and thoroughly off-the-wall elements.  The dialogue is clever, and the visuals are gorgeously, gloriously designed by artist Dave McKean (who also directs this film).... Put simpley--anyone who hasn't seen this yet, and likes this sort of film needs to... Right now... GO!!!

(Just make sure you have the phone off the hook, absolute silence, and time to watch it again right after, because you'll want to! :-D).
