Great Goblets of Fire
Nov. 20th, 2005 08:11 pmWent to see it today--you know the one. I still hold with my opinion
that the first is the best of the movies (third's my favorite of the
books), but this one gives it some solid competition. At first I was of
a mixed attitude. As always, the visuals and acting were quite good
(well, I wasn't so happy with the acting in the third, but anyway...),
but it seemed a little choppily done, and I thought they cut too much
out. No House Elf Liberation Front, no return of Dobby... :-(
However, Brendan Gleeson made a very good Madeye Moody. Also, we do get to see Moaning Myrtle again, to hilarious results (if you've read the book, you know the scene). In the same scene we get to see that our young Mr. Potter is growing up quite nicely.
And then there's Ralph Fiennes... Marvelous--absolutely marvelous--as Lord Voldemort. In my opinion, he steals the show...
