...And another dream bites the dust...
Used to think these Zendik folks were doing something good in the world, but after reading along this thread a bit, I guess not. It sucks that people who come off as being interesting and actually doing something relatively positive should turn out to be frauds. Sucks, sucks, bloody sucks. Bugs me. I hereby take back any praise I ever spoke on their behalf and any blessings I ever sent their way. Buggerit. Anti-mojo, nearly Whammy. >:-(

Note to self: lets see about creating something that /is/ actually all of the good things it seems to be, shall we??...

Okay, so the big movie they did (the DVD of which I just bought a couple days ago)is my first exposure to the Andrew Lloyd Webber version of the Phantom of the Opera. *ducks in case of thrown vegetables* I /have/ however, read Leroux's novel, watched a cartoon version when I was 7 or so, seen the 1925 Lon Chaney version, and the Claude Raines talkie that came roughly 20 years later, and have taken somewhat guilty pleasure in the version in which the Phantom is played by Robert Englund (of Nightmare on Elm Street fame), and /much much much/ guiltier pleasure in the 70's cheesiness that is The Phantom of the Paradise. I've loved the story for years (and frankly I always cheered for the Phantom over Christine's chosen lover). So there. :-P

So, while I've heard the melody of this from a thousand music boxes, I didn't know the words. Presently, I am in love with this song. Thought I should write it down for posterity and all that.

Music Of The Night
by Charles Hart

"Nighttime sharpens, heightens each sensation
Darkness stirs and wakes imagination
Silently the senses abandon their defenses."

"Slowly, gently, night unfurls its splendor
Grasp it, sense it, tremulous and tender
Turn your face away from the garish light of day
Turn your thoughts away from cold unfeeling light
And listen to the music of the night."

"Close you eyes and surrender to your darkest dreams
Purge your thoughts of the life you knew before
Close your eyes, let your spirit start to soar
And you'll live as you never lived before."

"Softly, deftly, music shall surround you
Feel it, hear it, closing in around you
Open up your mind, let your fantasies unwind
In this darkness which you know you cannot fight
The darkness of the music of the night."

"Let your mind start a journey through a strange new world
Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before
Let your soul take you where you want to be
Only then can you belong to me."

"Floating, falling, sweet intoxication
Touch me, trust me, savor each sensation
Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in
To the power of the music that I write
The power of the music of the night"

"You alone can make my song take flight
Help me make the music of the night."

*shivers... purrs... makes happy little 'squee' sound... you get the idea*

Which Star Wars Jedi/Sith are you?

Yoda

Dynamite in a small package, and long-lasting, like the Energizer bunny. While you are wise and calm, you are able to call on your killer instincts and be kick-ass. Some may call you a ‘sleeper’. With such great power comes some arrogance, but you are quick to return to humility and fix your mistakes. You have certainly left your mark on the world, in good and bad ways, and it was kinda sad to see you go. But no need to worry, you have gained immortality even though you can’t wield your toothpick of a lightsabre anymore.
